Annie's 1st Grade Curriculum

Quarter 1 is our summer review quarter, so the materials are a little different. I don't think I will post the workbooks we are using because most are out of print bargains found at our teacher supply store.

For the rest of the year we will use these resources. I'm pretty sure Annie will progress quickly in some (like ETC, SWS, and WWE) so we may move to higher levels throughout the year. I will update this post as she moves forward.

• Spelling and Vocabulary- Soaring with Spelling (SWS) level 1
• Reading- Explode the Code (ETC) level 3 workbook and Beyond the Code (BTC) Level 1
• Math- Math Mammoth (MM) Grade 2, Singapore Math Challenging Word Problems 1, and continued drills in addition/subtraction facts
• Handwriting- Evan-Moor Daily Handwriting Practice, Traditional Manuscript
  
• Writing- Writing With Ease (WWE) Level 1 and Story Starters
• Grammar- Growing with Grammar (GWG) Level 1
  
• Chess- ChessKIDS.com lessons, games using Chess with Friends on the iphone
  

In addition to the subjects above, Annie will be doing Geography, Science, Art, and Piano with Maggie.

Right now this looks like too much. She won't do every subject every day, so it isn't as bad as it looks. I may need to modify.
